The prison is easily accessible by public transport:

Arrival by car
Parking in the immediate vicinity is very limited. Parking on the hospital grounds is not permitted. The following alternative parking options are available:
- Park+Ride spaces at S-Bahn stations in the outer area
- Parking garages in the city center
- Parking spaces at Dammtor train station
- Parking lots at Heiligengeistfeld
Allow plenty of time for finding a parking space.
Visitor Center
The separate visitor centre has barrier-free access at Holstenglacis with a wheelchair ramp and wheelchair lift.
Visiting regulations
Frequency and duration of visits
- Adults awaiting trial: twice a month for 60 minutes each time
- Prisoners: 60 minutes once a month
- Youth: Different regulations are possible
Number of visitors
A maximum of three people, including children, are allowed per visit.

Important: The visitor centre and the laundry parcel department are closed from 11:15 am to 12:00 pm, Monday to Thursday.

Special permit requirement
In the case of pre-trial detention, prior authorization from the competent court, the public prosecutor's office or the police may be required.

- 2-euro coin as deposit for lockers
Laundry exchange
You are welcome to exchange linens during your visit. Please ensure that no valuables are left in your bags.
Laundry drop-off without visitors (first wash):
Monday to Friday, 07:45 – 08:45
Laundry swap with visitors:
Possible every 14 days during the scheduled visit
Prohibited items
The following items are not permitted:
- Mobile phones

- Other items
Bag and personal checks will be conducted at the entrance. The exchange of items during your visit is prohibited.
Money transfer for prisoners
The institution does not accept cash. Exceptions are made only for payments that lead to immediate release (e.g., in cases of substitute imprisonment).

Please arrive approximately 20 minutes before your scheduled appointment. No extension or rescheduling can be granted in case of lateness.
